MacApper has a good rundown on an application called AppTrap which can make uninstalling applications from your Mac easier. It’s already easy since you just drag the program you want to uninstall to the trash, but sometimes there is a preference file or cache that can be left behind.
AppTrap runs in the background and when you drop a program into the trash it asks you if you’d also like to trash related files (like preference file or cache). It is very convenient for keeping you Mac cleaned up.
If you don’t like the idea of having something using memory, you can use AppCleaner to do the same thing on a per instance basis.
